After cleaning the cottage and removing the stickers I used my usual method for taking a template to paper the downstairs section. I decided to divide it into a living room and kitchen area.
So here is the first of the houses to be renovated. This is a genuine vintage meadowcroft cottage, not to be confused with cheddar cottage (Angelina Ballerina's house) as this has hardboard floors not plastic. After cleaning the cottage and removing the stickers I used my usual method for taking a template to paper the downstairs section. I decided to divide it into a living room and kitchen area. I used wood effect for the kitchen walls and flagstone floor. For the living room space the floor is light wood parque and the walls have a blue flowery design to fit with the country cottage feel. The next update will be the progress on the roof section which will be the bedroom area.

Wow it's been a long time since I updated this page and lots has happened since then! Namely the addition to my family of my daughter who is now 3, I also moved back to the UK and started full time work. But now things are starting to get back to normal I have time once more to work on some little projects and also I get the added pleasure of seeing my little one playing with the houses I have decorated.
I got a fantastic ebay deal on a job lot of 4 houses so there will be plenty of new pictures to see soon enough. I finally got an original Meadowcroft cottage, which although in need of some attention, looks like it will be a pleasure to decorate. I also finished the kitchen in the grand hotel! so there will be a few pictures of that going up soon. As well there have been a few new families added to the collection so there will be new additions to the family album too. Hopefully I will have the time and energy to keep updating this page more regularly now that life isn't as hectic. Thanks for reading. Hi Everybody! I wanted to show you my latest addition, this was bought for me as a gift by my husband, he knew I wanted them, especially when he saw my reaction to them being in our local store. I had often looked at this family when it was available only in JP packaging (and 4 times the price!) I thought I would never get the chance to own the Sea breeze Rabbits but now I do and I am very happy! This family has been relased as part of the 25th anniversary figures that will be on general release in the UK. There are a number of special releases for the anniversary so be sure to keep your eye out for the special boxes marked with the hologram sticker. Yes I've updated the decorating section once more. This time I have added the galleries for Applewood Cottage, Oakwood Manor and The Grand Hotel. Again, there are a couple of additions and corrections still to make but it is up for you to have a browse through and get some inspiration for decorating your own Sylvanian house!
Enjoy. Well it's taken me a month to find the photos and get around to putting them up, but it's finally done. So far I have included a little bit of back story on how the decorating all started and the wallpapering tutorial gallery is finished, just a couple of tweaks and spell checks to do, but it is there!!! I hope that you find it easy to follow and useful. If you have any comments or questions please feel free to contact me.
Enjoy! Xxx So I discovered a cool website today and created this cute little comic strip! Pikistrips.com allows you to make comic strips from your own photos! I have only just discovered this site, but it seems fairly easy to navigate. I am sure that I will discover how to create much better comics once I have had a little practice! There are sure to be more to come....
Hello. Welcome to my new blog! I have never written a blog before so you'll have to bear with me while I get used to all this! Plus I have not written anything for other people to read since I left college, well....other than shopping lists! The reason I decided to start this blog is due to my growing collection of Sylvanians Families. I love setting up scenes and taking photos of my collection. I really enjoy sharing my pictures and slideshows and hearing from others that are also as crazy about Sylvanians as I am. I started collecting in 2009. It all started fairly inocently, with the purchase of Betty Blackberry and her juice bar. The next purchase (a day later) was Spencer Clearwater with the dentists set. The bug bit me hard at that point and I haven't stopped since! I now have a wardrobe full of blue boxes, (and no I don't mean Tiffany&Co blue boxes like most women my age would!) and also a couple of Pink Calico Critter boxes too. Just for the record, I currently have 112 figures. They are mostly rabbits as I think they are the cutest of all the sylvanian animals, but I am starting to collect other families now, as well as trying to find some of the rarer, out of production rabbit families. I am hoping that this blog will allow me to share my passion with fellow enthusiasts, as well as giving my collection a further purpose........ to entertain others! I hope you enjoy it! |
